Guest House

http://www.homeguesthouse.com/

Guest House is currently one of the hotspots in the city and for good reason. The DJ spins house music for the throngs of people who pack the place every weekend. The club is not big when compared to the likes of some super clubs such as Crobar but the crowd is definitely more refined. On certain nights it’s a bit of a struggle to jostle people for some dancing space but that’s not any different from almost any happening spot in the city.

Getting in is a challenge sometimes so unless you have a supermodel out with you its advisable to get on the guest list or reserve a table. Drink prices are fairly steep and seem to get more expensive as the night goes by. Expect to spend a lot of money here but if that’s not a concern then a good time is pretty much guaranteed.

Pop Burger

http://www.popburger.com/

Pop Burger isn’t one of your ordinary burger joints. Though it has a limited menu the offerings a re quite good. The burgers, which are really good come in a pack of two, while hot dogs, shakes and fries round up the menu. The place is always packed with people who are getting some food in their system before heading to the next bar/club or those looking to balance out the night’s drinking. Finding a spot to sit can sometimes take few minutes, so a good plan is to let the rest of your groups find and conquer any seats that are freeing up while you wait for the food.

While the front room is for takeout and self service eating there is more behind the velvet rope. Once you get past the bouncer you will enter the surprisingly slick lounge area. The back room will cater to those looking to sit around, hang out by the bar, or even play pool. Food can be had in the back room as well but the prices are much steeper than those at the front room.

Highline

http://www.nychighline.com/

Hidden among the hustle and bustle of the Meat Packing District (MPD) is Highline, a less prominent yet fantastic Asian restaurant. Most people think Spice Market or Buddakan when they get a craving for Asian food and are in the mood to be in or around the MPD. While Highline pales in size to the previously mentioned hotspots it more than makes up for it in quality. The food is very reasonably priced and more importantly delicious.

Highline has 3 separate floors providing 3 unique experiences. The subterranean level entertains patrons with a fountain, exercise balls, and a full bar. The main floor is where you will enjoy your meal and has very nice atmosphere, and the top floor where desserts are served to you as you lay in bed with swivel tables.

On my most recent and definitely not last visit we enjoyed the sea bass entree along with an assortment of appetizers. The drink menu is also worth exploring with items such as ginger infused mojito being on the list.
