B&H Photo and Video
New Yorkers have known for years that B&H is a great place to visit if you are in the market for photo, video, audio equipment and accessories for professionals, consumers or prosoumers; but now it appears that the word has spread. Many out of towners arrive with B&H already on their must see list and for good reason. The first time you walk into B&H you will need a few minutes to soak it all in, or at least I did. For a moment I found myself transformed to a place I can only describe as a combination of Santa’s workshop and Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory complete with the Oompa Loompas. This was mostly due to the size, conveyor belts snaking through, and efficiency in which this store operated and not because there were vertically challenged employees breaking into song and dance, though that might bring in more customers but I digress.
B&H is a true superstore and not just due to its size. They stock a huge selection of audio, video and accessories which customers are allowed to handle and in some cases play around with. The sales staff is very knowledgeable and patient which coupled with the fact that prices are very competitive makes this pace a great place to shop. One thing to remember is that they are closed on Saturdays.
